Quick Overview
The chapters are divided to have a systematic approach to pediatric EEG. A brief of technique and normal waves will help to start understanding EEG. Abnormal waves are very easy to identify then. Chapters on abnormal waves, focal and generalized epilepsy and pediatric epilepsy syndromes follows. Relevant clinical inputs are included to better identify with the condition. A brief about more common artifacts is discussed. EEG is increasingly used in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and for coma and same is discussed in these chapters. Neonatal EEG is difficult and different. However, I have tried to simplify it and shared the most basic information needed to interpret it. Like any other skill acquisition, EEG reading also requires constant practice and correlating the findings with clinical and neuroradiological results. With regular efforts and systemic approach, it can be learnt.
